Christina Vaughan wins Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2009

Christina Vaughan – Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Image Source, the world’s leading producer of royalty free stock photography – has won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Asian Women of Achievement awards held in London.

May 21, 2009 - PRLog -- The winners of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards were announced during the black-tie event in Park Lane, London, attended by His Royal Highness, Prince Charles. Now in their tenth-anniversary year, the Awards have become a showcase for some of the leading lights in the British Asian Community. Christina Vaughan was announced winner of the Entrepreneur of the Year category, beating off stiff competition from what has been reported as one of the strongest shortlists since the Awards began.

The Lloyds TSB sponsored awards were set up to identify Asian women making a significant contribution to British life, across the media, business, arts, politics and voluntary sector. Christina was the first non-American to be voted onto the Picture Agency Counsel of America Board in 2003 and is currently serving as its Vice President.

Sir Nicholas Young, Chief Executive of the British Red Cross, chaired the judging panel for the awards, which were attended by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Compered by BBC newsreader Mishal Husain, the awards were also attended by patron Cherie Blair QC; Nick Clegg MP; actress Meera Syal; James Caan, entrepreneur and star of TV`s Dragon`s Den; The Rt Hon Tessa Jowell MP; The Rt Hon Theresa May MP; Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty; Baroness Kennedy QC; Baroness Greenfield and Caroline Spelman MP.

Christina commented: "I am delighted and honoured to win this award and be amongst such a wealth of inspirational female talent. I have always been proud of my cultural heritage and it is a privilege to be recognised at these influential awards. I hope to prove a worthy recipient and inspirational ambassador for female entrepreneurs worldwide.”
