The Making of Madonna.

May 21, 2009 - PRLog -- Kurv Magazine introduces you to Maripol, yes just Maripol, who among many other talents was Madonna’s stylist during her ‘Madonna’ and ‘Like A Virgin’ tours of the early 1980’s. This fascinating Kurv interview provides insights into the legend that is Madonna during the developmental years of Madonna’s career.

Maripol “... Imagine a girl named Madonna coming to see me to style her. What better than to put on my cross designs on her? We were both raised strict Catholics and we both left our family home to create and be free!...”

Maripol also reveals that the inspiration for her styling Madonna with Catholic religious iconography was, “...100% Pure God...”

Of course the Church leaders of the day had suspected that Madonna had vastly different reasons for the adoption of the iconography and labeled Madonna’s use of it as blasphemy, and roundly condemned it.

Maripol.”... I was raised first in Africa, then to France, where I landed at 8 years old, ...I left again at 20 to conquer another continent... when I first came to New York it felt like home!...”

Maripol was named Marie-Paule, after her grandparents, however a name change was deemed necessary soon after arriving into the US following the many unsuccessful attempts at having her newly adopted country get their collective heads around her then unfamiliar name.
