was recently invited to present to the Department of Defense, Pentagon’s Sustainability Group located in Washington D.C. The Pentagon Sustainability Group contacted the company to learn more about Kilawatt Technologies’
success in reducing energy and greenhouse gas emissions in large facilities. The Pentagon was specifically interested in the company’s intellectual property and software EnerSuite that Kilawatt Technologies has developed over the past nine years. EnerSuite focuses on operational efficiency and equipment performance optimization, providing organizations energy intelligence that achieves 15%-25% annual energy cost and greenhouse gas emissions reductions.
The Pentagon Sustainability Group continually seeks to recognize and evaluate new technologies that can improve the sustainable operations of the Pentagon’s facility, primarily focusing on LEED, energy conservation and operational efficiency. Since 2001 the Pentagon has been undergoing a major renovation of the 5 million square foot facility, targeted to be completed in 2010. The Pentagon is Headquarters for the Department of Defense, has over 17 ½ miles of corridors and 23,000 people currently work in the building.
