Dr. Randall Wright has been named a Finalist for the inaugural Health Care Heroes Award presented by the Houston Business Journal. The Health Care Heroes Awards will be given on May 20th, 2009 at a luncheon at The Wortham Center to honor those health care providers who serve their community, are innovative in their techniques and those who save lives. The Health Care Heroes Awards will feature Tom Granatir, Director of Public Health Initiatives with Humana Inc. as the Keynote Speaker.
"I am honored to be among the four Doctor finalists in the greater Houston area," says Dr. Wright. “I believe that in order to be successful in the medical field, one must have a passion to help people.” Along with influencing healthy lifestyles, Wright also speaks to younger individuals in the community about the importance of pursuing careers in the medical industry.
Dr. Wright is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Montgomery County Chapter of the American Heart Assosciation, past Chair of the American Heart Association’
Dr. Wright currently is the Medical Director of the Neurovascular Institute of Conroe Regional Medical Center. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Xavier University Of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He attended Medical School at Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine Department of Neurology. Dr. Wright is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Thirty-three Houston-area physicians, health care providers and community organizations will be honored in twelve different categories during the Health Care Heroes luncheon. Each of the finalists were nominated for the award by community members and will be presented with their awards during the luncheon.
