The Singing Bee Auditions Portland Music Lovers at Marriott City Center

PR Log (Press Release) – May 19, 2009 – Portland, OR: The hit game show The Singing Bee is in Portland, Oregon recruiting music lovers who want the opportunity to showcase their personalities and talents on TV and potentially win tens of thousands of dollars. Teams of casting agents for The Singing Bee have been blanketing the city and the surrounding suburbs to provide opportunities to audition for the show. The Singing Bee is holding an open call audition between 3:00pm and 10:00pm Wednesday, May 20 at the Marriott City Center at 520 SW Broadway in Portland.

Senior Casting Coordinator for The Singing Bee, Anthony Moore is a Portland native and encouraged producers to target Portland because this city has a very strong interest in country and pop music. According to Moore, "Portland is unique among American cities due to its rich musical culture. I thought that citizens of Portland could really add a greater depth of character to The Singing Bee."

The Singing Bee is a variety-competition show on CMT (Country Music Television) cable network and is hosted by Reba’s Melissa Peterman. The Singing Bee challenges contestants to accurately sing the lyrics to popular country and pop songs..

Casting associates will also be at Duke’s Bar & Grill at Southeast Division, Tuesday, May 19 for a Singing Bee Country Jam in conjunction with Duke’s Country Jam/Open Mike Night.

"We have probably hit every karaoke club in the area to find the right talent. Potential contestants need only bring their enthusiasm!" said Moore.
