A Warwickshire IT company has proved it’s possible to be a success – even when your market collapses.
Informance Ltd, which was previously known as IPC Global, saw the demise of an ERP software system it was dealing with in 2006 and had to quickly change the focus of its business.
The company became a reseller of QlikView, the world’s fastest growing business intelligence software, changed its name to Informance and overhauled its website.
And it has now just relocated from the Haseley Business Centre to the University of Warwick Science Park’s Innovation Centre in Warwick.
Later this year, it expects to begin recruiting as it looks to expand further.
Director Barry Talbot said: “We have more than 25 years’ collective knowledge in delivering business intelligence systems that help to make a genuine positive impact on the bottom line of any company.
“With the demise of the ERP system we were skilled in, we had to find an alternative product and we did. We have been selling QlikView since 2006 and the business has gone from strength to strength.
“We needed more space and also wanted to take advantage of some of the extra services provided by the Warwick Innovation Centre.
“This is one in a long line of exciting new developments for the company and we hope to build on that later in 2009 with the addition of new staff.”
Informance is also one of only two QlikTech UK partners that can offer full certified training to any QlikView users.
John Barnes, manager of the Warwick Innovation Centre, said: “Things can change extremely quickly in business – particularly in the software and IT industry.
“Sometimes you can pre-empt that but on occasions, the change can take you by surprise and it is important to respond quickly.
“That is exactly what Informance has done and we are delighted to have this forward thinking company with us here at the Innovation Centre.”
