Helping children out is always a great way to bring people together. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® Central Ohio Region is no different. In fact it’s even more significant due to the fact that it is a recognized charity nationwide. But this event coming up in June is a little different then most.
The event is being hosted by Yun Strength and Fitness Systems and it’s owner, Jason Yun. Yun runs a popular fitness bootcamp in the Columbus area, and that is what the event is based around. Fitness Bootcamps are the latest and greatest way to get in shape. Yun’s camps are no different.
‘Helping the kids out of Columbus while getting your butt kicked by me is the way to go,’ Yun says, ‘for a $15 donation you get probably the best workout of your life in, plus your making some kid very happy.’
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of America was founded in 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona. It all began because of the simple dream of a boy named Chris. A small group of people helped this very ill little boy achieve his wish - to be a state trooper for a day.
Since then, Make-A-Wish has grown into the largest and most professional wish granting organization in the world with 67 chapters in the U.S. To date, the Foundation has granted more than 153,000 wishes worldwide.
The Make-A-Wish Charity Bootcamp is scheduled to kick off on June 13, 2009 at the Dexter Falls Park in Columbus. The camp will be just 45 minutes of heart-pounding, fat-burning, muscle-building exercises taking place from 9:15- 10:00 am. People who want to register should do so at the website listed below. Yun is only taking 25 people and it is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yun has plans on making this a monthly thing. ‘I’m hoping that people will see the great thing we are trying to do here for these kids, and also the great benefit that they receive from the workout. It’s a win-win situation for everybody involved.’ Yun proclaims.
