The Doups, from Setubal, Portugal surprised not only their strong base of fans, but themselves by remaining in the Top 40 for the whole first day of the Competition. The Doups profile remained on the front page of the Supajam Website most of the day as more and more votes continued to come in and at one stage in the afternoon reached Number One most popular unsigned Band according to votes.
Singer "Johnny Doups" said, "It´s absolutely amazing and I haven´t even voted or begged friends to vote yet. There are so many bands in this competition, I never expected so much support in the early stages. There is still weeks to go for voting so anything can happen but earlier today we were at number 17 which has made me pretty happy again!. Thanks to everyone that has voted"
The Doups are currently still unsigned which allows them to be in this competition. They have recently been working on their debut mini album with Producer Harvey Birrell in London which is ready for release later this summer. If a suitable record label is not found before the end of the summer then a Digital release is planned. The entry in this years Supajam Competition is a special mix of "Try Die Lie Whatever" which will be available on a Supajam compilation if the band reach the top 20.
