A unique trend has migrated from countries such as China, Japan and India. It has spread through Europe and other parts of the world. It’s popularity has mushroomed so quickly that everyone is taking notice.
You can see its smoky tendrils rising. No, wait!
It isn’t smoke after all. It’s a puff of…water vapor!
Enter the electronic cigarette. “eCigarettes”
There are a growing number of companies marketing various imported brands of these new technological marvels, but there are just a few American manufacturers.
REDeCig™ eCigarettes ( http://www.REDeCig.com ), of Sterling, Kansas is one of them.
“Located in the Heartland of America”, says Eric Hoffman, spokesperson for REDeCig™, “We don’t just feel the pulse, we hear the beat! America is calling for something new. Something healthier. And our eCigarettes offer a viable alternative to smoking tobacco.”
With eCigarettes there is no tobacco. There is no odor. There is no need for matches or lighters…you can’t burn down the house.
There is no real smoke, so of course, there is no secondhand smoke.
Technology has conceived and produced the ultimate placebo for smokers. It looks like a cigarette, tastes like a cigarette, and acts like a cigarette…even though it’s not.
Acts like a cigarette? Yep. eMagic!
Though none of the harmful chemicals or compounds found in tobacco are present, eCigarettes do contain nicotine – the main ingredient in tobacco products that keeps smokers coming back for more. The nicotine, mixed with flavorings and an inert compound, are contained in a special cartridge that looks like the ‘filter’ tip of a real cigarette.
The eCig eMagic Act comes complete with ‘smoke’. eSmoke, actually.
Inside the eCig device a part called the “Atomizer”
At the same time, an embedded, red LED bulb in the tip of the eCig lights up, mimicking the lit end of a cigarette. The user exhales, and the illusion is completed with a puff of eSmoke. That ‘smoke’ is, essentially, water vapor. No harmful anything, for the user or anyone else in the vicinity.
According to Electronic Cigarette Association (ECA) President Matt Salmon, (http://www.ecassoc.org/
There are currently no laws regarding the use of eCigarettes. Mr. Salmon differentiates the contents of eCigarettes with that of tobacco products by adding that: “Nicotine suffers from guilt-by-association with tobacco. The carcinogenic properties of nicotine in a standalone form, separated from tobacco smoke, indicate that nicotine, on its own, does not promote the development of cancer in healthy tissue and has no mutagenic properties.”
