Chemicals:
While far too many to list, here are some of the chemicals included in household cleaners and their dangers:
Ammonia or Ammonium Hydroxide: is corrosive, extremely irritable to eyes, skin and respiratory passages. Most window cleaners use it. If mixed with the wrong chemicals (like bleach), it can produce a fume that can kill.
Formaldehyde:
Hydrochloric acid: a corrosive, eye and skin irritant, damages kidneys, liver and the digestive tract.
Linear Alkylate Sulfonate: a common additive in detergents is absorbed through the skin and is a known liver damaging agent.
Sodium Tripolyphosphate:
Clean Green:
So, how de we get away from using such toxic chemicals in our homes? Clean Green. It is easy, it is safe, and it is a lot less expensive. Using a base of baking soda and white-distilled vinegar, you can clean most of your home. More than likely, those two products are already sitting in your pantry.
