Open source innovator and Snort(R) creator, Sourcefire(R)
Sourcefire 3D provides SurveyMonkey with an extra layer of protection, consistently detecting and stopping attacks that make it through the firewall. It also provides visibility down to the packet level, so that SurveyMonkey's IT staff can easily evaluate risks and filter out events that won't impact the corporate network.
SurveyMonkey is also leveraging the power of Sourcefire RNA to reduce false positives, model and enforce compliance white lists and identify all systems on the network to improve network security and management. SurveyMonkey uses RNA's white lists to specify the operating systems, services, applications and protocols that are approved for use on the network, reducing risks by identifying and mitigating non-compliant hosts. RNA also automatically generates a network map which enables SurveyMonkey's IT team to audit servers and services on the network, to confirm that they were secure and compliant with corporate IT policies.
"The Sourcefire 3D System has been designed to automatically address customers' specific network security requirements with increased precision," said Tom McDonough, President and COO of Sourcefire. "This provides our customers with leading protection while helping them reduce security costs and overhead. For companies like SurveyMonkey this means that they are able to minimize their investment in dedicated resources and protect their networks from attacks."
