The BMW 5 series is the best car amongst the executive saloon that gives all round performance. The once radical shape of the 5 Series has now matured nicely into a discreet but smart piece of design. In a bid to keep things fresh, BMW has made a few small changes to the latest car. The changes are mainly around its looks both exterior and interior given it a fully grown looks.
Some cars feel solid – and then there's the 5 Series. The quality of the materials used and the care taken in the way its build are both superb. The BMW 5 series is blessed with some wonderful features giving it a radical look. The British drivers have grown familiar with a shape that initially had them startled if not appalled.
The BMW 5 Series is a huge car so there is no compromise on space. It is made of nice stuff inside and has a decent boot. It has roomy headroom and rear leg. But the disappointing thing about it is, the seats don’t fold which is bit loss in practicality. Otherwise the 5 series has everything in its cabin, the large quantity of cubby holes and the firm and supportive front seats.
The 5 series combines a tranquil high-speed motorway cruise with real enthusiasm for a twisty stretch of road thanks in part to a new six-speed automatic gearbox. It has a firm but absorbent ride and impressive standards of refinement inside the cabin. The front engine wheel drive layout improves weight distribution and with the power being sent rear-wards, the front wheels only need to bother about the turning and providing feedback through the steering wheel.
Now comes the best part of the 5 series, the Performance. The 530d has a staggering turn of pace. The introduction of a new automatic gearbox in the most powerful petrol-engined versions has improved economy over its manual counterpart. It definitely has been helpful since 75% of the 5 series drivers have changed to automatic.
When the federal government tested a 5-Series, it earned a three-star rating in frontal protection for the driver--the lowest mark typically awarded--but five stars in the other dynamic tests. The insurance-industry-
