Despite the current economic crisis, globalization will continue to affect our daily live. It has changed our lives in many ways; one is that we are now communicating with people all over the world frequently, as part of our job, in spare time through social networks or on visits to other countries. Understanding the other person is a key factor and English has proved as the language of choice for many.
Recognizing this Wijng.com is taking the step towards an international language portal and offers its high quality learning resources now in English.
In its German version Wijng.com is already well known and could establish itself as a resource for German speakers who want to learn English. Online since autumn 2008 Wijng.com could attract a growing number of users.
One of Wijng.com’s advantages and aims is to focus more on high quality content than its competitors. The content covers the essential grammar parts and offers a wide range of exercises for each topic. As learning a language is not only based on grammar, Wijng.com offers reading and listening lessons. These are composed of various topics and include comprehension exercises, vocabularies and annotations.
In contrast to other offerings Wijng.com has not yet launched any community features. “Building a sound international user base and high quality content is our priority” says Mathias Müller, co-Founder of the project. But that does not mean the community is not involved at the moment: “User feedback has increased our content quality enormously; especially feedback to exercises has been overwhelming. A big thank you to all the active users.” states the Wijng.com Team at a recent interview.
While the international user base is growing, more and more community features will be added soon. After the final testing is completed the team will add the possibility for users to add exercises, to comment on lessons and to communicate with each other.
