Follow on Google News | Local Skippers To Compete For Hospice CareThe Lake Norman Yacht Club will host the 9th annual Hospice Regatta May 15-17. On Saturday, sailors will compete on the lake starting at 10AM followed by dinner at 6 PM. The regatta continues on Sunday, starting at 9:25 AM.
By: Race City Media A portion of the Regatta entry fees, proceeds from the live and silent auctions and community contributions to Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman will benefit the local organization’ Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman is a regional office of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region and together they serve eight counties in the region, including all the communities surrounding Lake Norman. Last year the event raised more than $60,000 for the Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman. # # # Founded in 1961, LNYC hosts a variety of cruising events, junior sailing programs and local, regional and national competitions that attract thousands of spectators and sailors from around the country each year. More than 200 members enjoy affordable activities, safe sailing lessons and competitive racing events that appeal to the entire family generally unavailable elsewhere in the community. LNYC is the only facility in North Carolina to offer formal training programs for advanced junior sailors.
