May 14, 2009 - PRLog -- After 25 years serving both local and long distance students, the learning center will celebrate with current and former staff, students, and parents.  There have been around 4,000 students who have been helped by attending the learning center.  Many of those students have gon on to graduate from college, some even earning master's and doctorate degrees.

Highlights of the Stowell Learning Center's 25th Anniversary celebration include:
•   A 2-hour attention, reading, and auditory processing challenges simulation that helps parents and professionals actually experience what it is like to have learning challenges
•   A reunion of staff, students, and parents
•   A tour of the new Chino Hills location
•   The presentation of two $1000 scholarships
•   The release of Jill Stowell’s new book, a parent’s guide to understanding and overcoming learning challenges

Additionally, the learning center has employed and trained over 200 clinicians.  Many of those employees began work during their college years.  Employees who leave the center to go into teaching are often in high demand because of their training and practical experience.

Stowell Learning Center specializes in solving learning problems including learning disabilities, dyslexia, and attention challenges.  While schools and tutoring focus on academic skills and getting curriculum learned, the learning center works on developing the skills that make learning easy and allow students to become independent of extra help.

The 25th Anniversary program will feature a celebration of student successes, sharing of memories by parents, students and staff, refreshments, and the awarding of  2, $1000 scholarships.  Jill’s new book, expected to be released that weekend, will help parents understand why so many bright children struggle with school and what can be done to actually solve those challenges.

These events are free.  The simulation will be held on June 27th from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.at the Stowell Learning Center, 15192 Central Ave.  Chino, Ca.  A clinician reunion luncheon will begin at noon, followed by a gathering of current and former students, parents, and staff.

While the event is held as a free celebration to parents, students, and professionals, they request that you make a reservation so that materials can be ready for all who attend.

Stowell Learning Center wants to find all students, parents, and employees who have been part of this very rich history. For more information and to make a reservation, call the learning center at (909) 598-9796.
