The National Association of Home Builders has named EcoBroker International as its 2009 Green Building Advocate of the Year. The association honored EcoBroker International at the 11th Annual NAHB National Green Building Conference in Dallas, Texas.
EcoBroker offers education and tools to real estate professionals that in turn help consumers take advantage of energy efficiency and environmentally sensitive design in real estate properties. Through EcoBroker’s innovative energy and environmental curriculum, real estate professionals acquire the knowledge and resources to become Certified EcoBrokers® and Ecosociates™
. These real estate professionals assist clients in their pursuit of properties that provide affordability, comfort and a healthier environment (reducing carbon footprints).
“EcoBroker’
s work with thousands of real estate professionals interested in green building concepts shows how far residential green building has come,” said Eric Borsting, chair of the NAHB Green Building Subcommittee. “EcoBroker’
s education program is a great illustration of how to best support and encourage sustainable, environmentally responsible construction. They are a good example for our members as NAHB continues to reach new markets in its work to lead green building into the mainstream.”
“This award acknowledges the substantive strides the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and EcoBroker International are making collaboratively to bring the green building community together with the real estate community; a relationship that is critical to consumer awareness and education,” said EcoBroker International’
s CEO and President, Dr. John Beldock. “Real estate professionals are the bridge between the consumer and the latest and greatest green technologies and features implemented by green builders. Since 2002, it has been EcoBroker’s mission to get the information in the hands of the consumer via the real estate professional. Whether purchasing a newly constructed green home, making renovations or simply re-selling a home that was built to green standards, the consumer must understand the cost-savings, comfort and other benefits of green choices. We’re honored NAHB has recognized our efforts and those of the EcoBroker Certified® real estate professionals working with builders and consumers throughout the U.S. and internationally. We thank you.”
