Through penny wars and pie throwing contests, North American Rescue Foundation raised more than $3600 for March of Dimes this spring.
North American Rescue involvement with the March of Dimes campaign this year was spearheaded by newly appointed NAR Director of Product Management Teresa Dupuis. Shannon Seidel, NAR Operations Coordinator, said, "Teresa brought the idea to the table for getting together a NAR Team ...North American Rescue is a socially conscious company. NAR donates to charities across a broad spectrum."
Teresa has been involved with March of Dimes for over 20 years. She was personally affected with what a wonderful benefit this charitable organization provides when her niece Stephanie was born eight weeks premature. The NICCU at Greenville Memorial Hospital was able to care for Stephanie and used the March of Dimes miracle drug, Surfactin, during her treatments. All of this shed a new light on the March of Dimes for me.
North American Rescue enthusiastically embraced the March of Dimes effort, and CEO Robert Castellani quickly appointed Kala Crumpton as team leader. With the invaluable assistance of Teresa and Shannon, the newly formed team led NAR on their most original season of fundraising yet with penny wars and pie throwing. They also sold cutouts and participated in March for Babies on April 25.
"March of Dimes is a great organization!"
Teresa concluded, "I never imagined that whipped cream pies would raise so much money for such a wonderful cause!"
March of Dimes’ mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. They carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives.
