The popularity of Cyprus property has undoubtedly dropped off because of its track-record of massive delays getting title deeds after purchasing property.
However, a solution to the deeds problem has recently been offered, 14 ne golf courses are approved and under construction, and Cyprus is to be the site of Euro Disney number 2 so the future is bright none the less.
"Cyprus property sales have taken a real battering, with the effect of the title deeds scandal coming just as the credit crunch hit," said Julie Liddle emerging markets analyst for overseas property portal Property Abroad.
"But we don't expect the effects to last. Cyprus property sales are no worse than many other countries that grew reliant on foreign buyers, most notably Dubai. We expect that when the international recovery builds up some steam, and people start buying property overseas again, that the new golf courses and euro Disney 2 will put Cyprus back on top," she concluded.
Property Abroad is currently advertising hundreds of Cyprus properties for sale, from studio apartments in Famagusta for £25k to a 4 bedroom resale detached villa in Nicosia for over £5million.
