Women’s Spiritual Retreat “Sisters In Christ Using Their GPS”
Higher Ground Church Sponsors Event To Help Women Discover Their Purpose
If you’re a woman who wants to discover her God-given purpose, while enjoying a full weekend of fellowship and activities ranging from water aerobics to computer workshops, the “Women's Spiritual Retreat: Sisters In Christ Using Their GPS” is for you. The event, which will be held at the Roberts Centre, 123 Gano Rd, Wilmington, OH, 45177, is sponsored by Higher Ground Church, pastored by Calvin Hooks and Co-Pastor Deborah Hooks.
"Just like when you're in your car programming your navigator, you have to know your destination first in order to end up at the right place," said Pastor Deborah Hooks. "This retreat will help you know your sure destination in life, and that's your purpose. And then once you know your purpose, you will need Grace to go through, Power to break through any obstacles and Strength to endure even the toughest times.
"Workshops will include: “Have You Programmed Your GPS: Finding Your Purpose,” “It's Getting Hot In Here: Maintaining The Passion In Your Marriage,” “Help! It's Hard Staying In My Lane (Keeping Your Life On Track To Make Sure You Fulfill Your Purpose),” “Senior Women: Sacred, Significant and Empowered to Serve,” “My Own Space: Managing Motherhood As A Single Woman,” “Divorced But Not Alone” and many others. The retreat will also include activities for spirit, soul and body, including water aerobics, gospelcize, computer workshop, blood pressure and other health screenings.
“In these days and times, the key word is change," Co-Pastor Hooks said. "To make it through these trying times you have to be willing to change your mindset, so that you can grasp your purpose and utilize your personal GPS – Grace, Power and Strength system -- to make it."
