VIPAC D2 measures goods three dimensionally at speeds of up to 600ft/min
Even parcels with a height of up to 3.28ft / 1m are detected reliably and accurately. The VIPAC D1 and D2 can be used as part of the camera-based identification system VIPAC or as a stand-alone solution. These volume measurement systems will serve as enhancements to any logistical process, facilitate revenue recovery and enable automated invoicing.
VITRONIC’s volume measuring systems are mainly used by courier, express and parcel service providers, as well as by mail order companies. VIPAC D2 measures cuboidal goods three dimensionally at speeds of up to 600ft/min / 3.0m/s. The maximum dimensions of the packaged goods are determined with the highest measuring accuracy of 5mm (±0.20inch)
VIPAC D1 is the standard solution for applications which requires high measurement precision. It provides a measuring accuracy of 5mm (±0.20inch)
The dimensions of goods are important in the logistics process chain to control the storage of packaged items, to enhance loading in the transport fleet, to gather statistics, and to allow for revenue recovery. When combined with the camera-based identification system VIPAC, it can also capture additional information such as barcodes, 2D codes and total weight. The information gathered can be compared with available customer data, meaning discrepancies can be identified rapidly. With the help of the identification system and the tamper-proof, secure saved data, it is possible to automate invoices and to compare parcel information from the customer with the actual measured data producing revenue recovery.
