The new touristic program developed by Portfolio Enterprise in Armenia and its Georgian partners unveils the beauty and the history of the the two ancient countries with rich history and cultural heritage. The places to visit – ruins or centuries-old churches and monasteries - are too numerous to mention them all here.
The English poet Lord Byron, who spent part of his life at an Armenian monastery in Venice, described Armenia as one of the most interesting places in the world. He wrote to a friend, “If the Scriptures are rightly understood, it was in Armenia that paradise was placed … It was in Armenia that the flood first abated and the dove alighted…”
Throughout history, Armenia and Georgia have been trampled over by most of the ancient world’s empires, the both people starved a lot and struggled much throughout their long history, but despite that managed to create remarkable countries which always warmly welcome their visitors.
