Pasadena, CA – Brix 42 celebrated its grand opening yesterday by giving away free entrees. The restaurant-brewery served over 700 free dinners. Patrons waited comfortably in the lounge and enjoyed live acoustic music, performed by singer/songwriter Griffin Gissendanner. Free beer samples of the new house IPA were well received. Diners enjoyed all that Brix has to offer.
“This is what Pasadena needs,” Cristina Faraone, Editor at Pasadena Now, said. “It’s a great place to hang out and the food is good.”
Brix 42, restaurant and brewery offered diners’ generous portions of its signature dishes like pot roast, fish and chips, and chorizo basted pork tenderloin. The restaurant also tapped its newest IPA, an aggressive Indian Pale Ale that features unique citrus and herbal flavors. Its distinctive aroma highlights the earthy spiciness from hand selected American hops. A full-bodied and hoppy beer which incorporates three British malts to define the most exceptional profile.
“We wanted to give back to the community,” owner George Ghaby said. “And who are we kidding, a little free advertising never hurts.”
The grand opening was held in conjunction with American Craft beer week, a national celebration held May 11 – 17, highlighting America’s small and independent breweries that produce fewer than 2 million barrels of beer a year and are independently owned. Along with the nation’s other brewers, Brix 42 is asking the public to come in to sign the ‘Declaration of Beer Independence,’
To continue the grand opening celebration going and American Craft Beer week, Brix is hosting special brewery tours, all-night happy hour specials on Tuesday, $3 house draft beer all week, and nightly entertainment through My 18th.
Brix 42 is open seven days a week. Hours are nightly: Restaurant: 5:00 – 10:00 pm, happy hour: 4:00 – 7:00 pm, pub/lounge: 4:00 – midnight Sunday – Thursdays and until 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
