Local search engine provider GenieKnows has chosen to bring in the help of a marketing guru in order to make local search more….fun?
Has Seth Godin finally met his match? Surely not! Well GenieKnows might agree with that statement. This latest recruit aims to add more fun, flavour and humour to local search. Now I’m not talking about your typical headhunting here. GenieKnows has, in a rather reserved move, chosen to recruit from within…
Ok enough shenanigans. So who exactly is this new recruit? Well GenieKnows has introduced a Genie avatar type character to local search –this is a fun slant on an already existing technology similar to the Google suggest tool. GenieKnows.com now offers this playful character through search based on local search queries. This new humorous take on local search will provide users with suggestions based on local queries by way of a Genie. Try for example searching for McDonalds in Chicago. This (well it did for me) return a suggestion that I should join the local gym (I was going to do anyway…). In order to view this just head over to GenieKnows search engine sign up for an account and run some search queries when logged in.
Local search engine GenieKnows connects search technology, community and content by developing niche-specific portals tailored for distinct searching communities, delivering a focused, useful and rewarding search experience.
The launch of the GenieKnows local business directory and search engine has garnered industry praise and user approval. Focussing on usability, search and community GenieKnows blends these various elements into a cohesive whole that promotes interaction amongst consumers and business owners, similar to other competitors such as Yelp, Citysearch and Insiderpages.
