OPERA is making a welcome return to the Brangwyn Hall next month with a programme of opera and operetta music ranging from Mozart’s Magic Flute to Bernstein’s Candide.
The event is being led by The Swansea Philharmonic Choir and the Chamber Orchestra of Wales on Saturday 13 June at 7.30pm and is conducted by Clive John with soprano Naomi Harvey and Baritone Charles Johnston also on hand.
The Swansea Philharmonic Choir is a mixed choir with about 100 members. It was founded in 1959 with the aim of raising the standard of choral singing in Wales and performing less familiar music as well as choral classics. The choir's wide repertoire covers music from the baroque period to the present day.
Apart from Mozart and Bernstein, the programme also includes music from Verdi, Purcell, Strauss and Borodin.
Tickets cost £10 and are unreserved. They are available from the Box Office on 01792 475715 or online at thttp://www.swansea.gov.uk/
