Ricoh Offers Resellers Additional Margins With Managed Service

Ricoh click provides customers with transparent billing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)May 12, 2009 – Ricoh UK has launched its managed print service, Ricoh Click, to provide resellers with a more stable and sustainable business model during tough economic times. For every Ricoh Click desktop printer sold, resellers will automatically receive eight per cent of service revenues which are managed directly by Ricoh UK for the life of the product, removing the administrative burden of managing customers’ print related needs.

Ricoh UK directly handles end users’ print requirements with a single pay-per-page price which covers the cost of consumables and maintenance. This ensures that resellers are guaranteed service revenues and do not miss out on lucrative after sales business.

Richard Allison, IT channel manager at Ricoh, comments, “Print is of great strategic importance to many organisations but it is also one of the last areas of unmanaged operational cost - from warranties and regular servicing to consumable costs and printer repairs. Ricoh Click provides resellers with an opportunity to secure margins while customers can benefit from truly transparent pay-as-you print pricing and an easy to use web-based management tool.”

Resellers will receive the annuity revenue in the form of a quarterly rebate which provides them with a more stable and sustainable business model. This is available with Ricoh’s full printer range.

“Gartner research shows that if organisations engage in active management of their office document printing processes and workflow using services like Ricoh Click, a saving of 30 per cent can be made,” explains Allison. “This is a hugely compelling driver that resellers can use to help boost sales during this time of recession.”

About Ricoh
Ricoh designs, develops and manufactures a complete range of print and document management, hardware, software and services which are tailored to meet individual customer needs.  Its devices print, copy, scan and fax documents as an integrated part of the IT network and enterprise content management system.  Software is used to audit usage, manage document flows, simplify business processes, control print expenditure and secure access.  The company takes an innovative approach to research and development, having invented the first digital black & white copier and introducing the colour-capable device.

Ricoh established an Environmental Protection Office in 1976, and has been striving to minimise the effect of its activities on the environment ever since. Ricoh UK’s environmental credentials are second to none; it operates a zero-waste policy at all of its manufacturing plants and is investing in carbon reduction technologies to reduce the environmental impact of its operations rather than merely offsetting its carbon footprint. The company operates a dedicated ‘Green Centre’, where old machines are re-commissioned and recycled in line with WEEE Directive guidelines and accredited with ISO14001:2004 for environmental management. Ricoh has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard that requires an organisation to measure, manage and reduce its carbon footprint and, for the fifth consecutive year, has also been named as one of the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World" by the World Economic Forum in Davos.
