COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Restless Mind Syndrome (RMS) explores how an individual is to define his own identity in a culture of conformity driven by true-believers, psycho-babblers and the media. In this age of information acceleration, our attention spans are steadily declining. At one time, entertainment was used to inspire and provoke thought, but this is now rare. RMS fills this void.
“It seems like these days nobody can function without their video games, ipod or cell phone and it distracts from real life,” Mad Francis says. “I just hope to bring more attention to the external factors bombarding us that are increasingly influencing who we think we should be.”
Mad Francis (aka Eric Long) is a Colorado Springs native. His credits include: producer of the Daniel Johnston side project The Electric Ghosts; mastering engineer for Lee Ranaldo’s (Sonic Youth) recording, which accompanied Ranaldo’s book Road Movies; performance and production of the song Rowboat for the Daniel Johnston tribute I Killed the Monster; and producer and performer in the live rock, multi-media theatrical experience Face the City (www.facethecity.com)
