Auto Dealer Monthly, a leading car dealership trade publication, annually gives national awards to web providers, recognizing the best technical assistance providers available in the industry. But the most sought after awards go to dealers, recognizing auto dealerships with outstanding internet presence.  Award categories for the dealers are varied, ranging from those internet dealers with the highest sales volume to those with the best websites.  

The websites are judged strictly on several criteria categories. First, the websites must operate flawlessly. Pages must always load, security certificates must be current and navigation must be seamless among other basic website functionality issues.  About half of the thousands of websites evaluated did not make the first cut.  

The next level of judging takes website content into the mix.  Quality of text and image content is included. Default pages and inventory search and detail pages are inspected. Number and quality of vehicle photographs is judged. Relevance of copy is evaluated. The final criteria category was the SEO characteristics and searchability of the website.  In order to make it to the top, each website had to rank well in Google Search and had to have superior search engine organic results - so that shoppers could easily find the dealership's online marketing portal.
