Texas Association Of Health Underwriters Awards Highest Honor To Austin Agent

PR Log (Press Release) – May 11, 2009 – Austin, TX—The Texas Association of Health Underwriters (TAHU) awarded its highest honor, the Hollis Roberson Award, to Linda New. New is a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) and works for Strategic Employee Benefit Services in Austin. New has been in the Austin insurance industry for 32 years, specializing in the sale and service of individual and group products, including medical, dental, life, disability, Section 125, 401K and voluntary products with multiple insurance carriers.  

She is a founding member of the Austin Association of Health Underwriters, served as President in 1984 and is a Trustee Emeritus. She served on the Texas Chapter state board in several chair positions over the last 20 years and as an officer seven years, including the position of president from 2004 to 2005.

“Linda gives attention to detail, both personally and professionally and will focus on the big picture and long-term success for the health insurance industry,” TAHU president Ron Buffum said, “I am proud to call her the Hollis Roberson Award winner.”

Her past awards include the National Association of Health Underwriters’ Distinguished Service Award, Landmark Award and Presidential Citation Award. She is a past recipient of the Austin Chapter’s Shirley Hutzler Award and the Spirit Award.
