JobCircle Brings Pink Slip Party to Baltimore

West Chester, PA – The unemployed will soon have a new way to find their next job. JobCircle.com, the mid-Atlantic’s largest regional job board, is bringing their Pink Slip Party series to Baltimore this month.  JobCircle, who originally hosted Pink Slip Parties back in 2001 after the technology bubble had burst, has revived the idea due to the slumping economy.

The Pink Slip Party combines a job fair, networking event and happy hour into one neatly packaged function that occurs during the evening hours at a local bar or restaurant. Jobseekers who have been “pink slipped” or are worried about their job security will be able to network with HR professionals from several hiring companies. These events will provide a new lifeline for discouraged jobseekers that have not been able to secure a job in the recent months.  

JobCircle has already hosted two of these events, one on April 14th in Conshohocken, PA and a second one on April 21st in Edison, NJ. Each event proved to be successful for both jobseekers and recruiters with between 200-300 professionals in attendance. The Baltimore Pink Slip Party will take place on Wednesday, May 27th from 5pm – 8pm at Luckie’s Tavern in Power Plant Live!   Cost for jobseekers to attend the event is $10 if they register by May 21st at http://www.jobcircle.com/pinkslip; $15 after this date.

“Jobseekers are having a difficult time finding a job in this market. Events like this will help them make new contacts and find jobs that may not be advertised,” said Marisa Cogan, VP of Marketing for JobCircle. “Sending a resume is just not enough right now. You have to go out there and market yourself. Pink Slip Parties are a great way to showcase your talents in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, minus the stress of a formal interview.”  

Both recruiters and jobseekers will receive designated colored necklaces so that they can be easily identified by industry. Recruiters can attend the events for free when they register at www.jobcircle.com/pinkslip. “Our first two Pink Slip parties were great. We hope to plan other parties throughout the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Cogan.
