Social Network For Frugal Work-at-home Moms, www.ThriftyWAHM.com, Kicks Off Frugal Chat Series

May 9, 2009 - PRLog -- Www.ThriftyWAHM.com, a new social network aimed at thrifty work-at-home moms around the world, will kick off their Frugal Chat Series on May 12 at 8 p.m. EST. Each chat will focus on frugal topics and feature experts who will take questions from the audience.

During the month of May, chats will focus on grocery shopping. Kicking of the Frugal Chat series on May 12  will be Carol Norris with "How To Make Grocery Dollars Stretch." The founder of make-up line Master's Touch Minerals is a mom of 5, and has been self-employed for over 25 years.

"I am very excited about this site and thankful for a resource that can help so many people keep making ends meet when it is looking so grim,” says Norris, who is no stranger to hard times. She once struggled as a young mother and entrepreneur single-handedly supporting her family on less than 18K a year. “It was so discouraging and I often felt very much alone and desperate. A site such as this would have been such an encouragement."

On May 26, the Frugal Chat series will feature Laura Thornquist, coupon guru and Regional Director for BeCentsAble.net, who will offer “Coupons 101.”

ThriftyWAHM.com is already establishing itself as a useful place for work at home moms (and dads) to learn frugal habits while networking and promoting their businesses.

Officially launched on February 9, 2009, the site boasts hundreds of members and caught the eye of CNN who interviewed founder Ife Oshun in March.

“WAHM” is a popular acronym for work-at-home mom. The site offers free and affordable advertising, and promotion to moms (and dads) who run businesses out of their homes. It also provides a forum for sharing and procuring information on how to cut corners on a wide range of everyday household costs, including grocery shopping. Membership is free.
