Premier India Football Academy (PIFA) conducted their 18th camp to Europe in 6 years. Forty eight children between 8-16 years from Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad & Chennai signed up for this exciting 10 day soccer camp.
The children trained for 5 hours daily, they visited Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium & Mueseum and Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium & Mueseum.
The campers played four friendly matches against local English clubs.
The children got to meet England and ex Liverpool striker Peter Crouch and his girl friend Abbey Clancy at the Inspire Academy. He spent over an hour interacting with the children. He gifted all the campers an autographed football and picture.
The other highlight of the tour was watching a live EPL match between Manchester City and Blackburn (3-1) at the City of Manchester Stadium.
The skills contest was won by Aahant Singh, the runner up was Vihaan Chadha both PIFA students.
Mala Chadha parents of Vir & Vihan had this to say “This is Vir & Vihan's second camp with PIFA. They have had such a blast, they are chatting about it non-stop. They are pretty exhausted but say that it was AWESOME. Both are Liverpool fans and they could not believe they were at Anfield. Vihan brought back some grass from there!”
The proceeds of these camps are utilised to develop teams from the PIFA Colaba community football project undertaken by NGO - PIFA Foundation for benefit of sports.
The next camp will be leaving on 12 June to visit football giants Real Madrid.
