Follow on Google News | So who are the best unsigned bands on the web? A&RNew music website aimed at unsigned musicians and bands uses an A&R reviewing/rating system to filter out the best new music. Digital enhancements are made to their songs to feature on digital albums.
By: BEAgent In addition, BandEngine feature each of the top rated artists on a digital compilation album which is put through a digital enhancement process before release, the twist being that the featured artists and music reviewers responsible for rating them onto the album get to download the album for free and redistribute copies for profit. BandEngine see this as pulling artists and fans together to form an alternative unique mini-record label and distribution network. BandEngine then go on to provide the one thing that is missing from the equation; promotion. Although BandEngine don't plan on marketing or selling the albums themselves at this stage, they use the album to represent the artists throughout their network of link-ups and partnerships. Seeing as each 'mini-record label' is going to be relatively small, the promotion is likely to be spread via a relatively small promotional network. The digital music industry is changing and the way of the future seems to be in fan-financing models. Can BandEngine provide the one thing that is missing from these models? Promotion. Time will tell. # # # Provides an online A&R filtering system for unsigned music, digital album production service and promotional packages for unsigned artists, aswell as handing out annual awards to the best unsigned bands.
