Tulsa Technology Center invested thousands in tax payer dollars to place not only one, but two billboards directly across from Oklahoma Technical College’s new campus at 44th and Sheridan. Lamar officials, recipients of the revenue, commented to OTC management that the school (TTC) wants to be the only game in town. Teresa Knox, CEO said At first I thought it was a little weird, then I took it as a great compliment that a huge, state-run, non taxpaying school such as TTC would bother with trying to recruit students from our tax-paying college. We are flattered at the kudos, but I’d rather the money go to needy Tulsans that need vocational re-training in this economic environment.”
