Electron tube measurement
The measurement of electron tube is important in tube usage, But many people who made tube guitar amp self at home, can't afford complex and expensive measurement instrument to test their tube. Now we introduced some simple but efficiency way to test the key parameters of tube.
1. Short-circuit test
Because short-circuits in a tube may occur only when the electrodes are heated. It need tested short-circuit during filament or heater of the tube at its operating temperature.
The fundamental circuit of a short-circuit of a short-circuit tester is shown below
It is for triode .You can add more indicator lamps to the circuit if you want test pentode. The voltages are applied between the various electrodes with lamps in series with the electrode leads. The value of the voltages applied will depend on the type of tube being tested. Any two shorted electrodes complete a circuit and light one or more lamp.
