The Omicron Paintings are stylistically different from Kernodle's later paintings, even though they embody his later philosophy called "fluidism". OMICRONS are visual precursors to his inevitable fluidism painting style. These strong, purposefully refined-brute representations of human (and one alien) anatomy symbolize Kernodle's concept of "space as substance". The concept of "space as substance", realized during this figurative phase, came to dominate his later efforts, which eventually involved experimenting with fluid dynamic flow.
