May 7, 2009 - Family, friends and fans of the legendary comedy duo, Abbott & Costello, will set sail out of Bayonne, N.J. October 24th on a 5-night cruise to Bermuda aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's EXPLORER OF THE SEAS!
An informal meet-and-greet will take place at Dizzy's in the Viking Crown Lounge, October 25th at 5PM. A great opportunity to meet Abbott and Costello family members - Paddy and Chris Costello, daughters of Lou, Betty Abbott Griffin, niece of Bud Abbott (one of the film industry's renowned script supervisors)
and a host of other family members and friends.
A special screening of the duo's classic film, "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein,"
will be shown on October 28th, followed by a Q&A with family and special guest Julie Reams, whose uncle is the late Glenn Strange who played "Frankenstein."
Betty Abbott, who began her career as a script girl on the film, will lend some fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, as will Paddy Costello who recalls all too well her first initial encounter with the "monsters." Although Chris Costello was far too young to remember her set visit, she co-authored the book on her father, "Lou's On First" and will be bringing some A&C items to be raffled off.
