Helicopter displays have been confirmed at the Wales National Airshow 2009!
The RAF Chinooks and the Royal Navy Black Cats will be gracing the skies around Swansea with daredevil manoeuvres and the RAF Sea Kings will be performing a rescue demonstration to wow the crowds, all at the Wales National Airshow.
The RAF operate the largest fleet of Chinook Support Helicopters after the US Army, with a total of 34 HC2s, 6 HC2As. The Chinook has been involved in most of the recent UK operations such as earthquake relief in Pakistan, evacuation of Beirut and, more recently, with combat operations in Afghanistan.
The Royal Navy Black Cats will be performing an acclaimed aerobatic display that features high-speed crosses, close formation work and opposing maneuvers. The team is currently immersed in rigorous assessment in order to be cleared for public display and awarded the coveted Black Cats flying suit.
The Sea Kings helicopters are used in the Search and Rescue across the UK. For each of its roles, the Sea King is equipped to operate precise navigational standards and is fitted with a multi-band homing system, satellite navigation systems and an electrically-

The Wales National Airshow is on July 11th and 12th in Swansea Bay. The two day spectacular will include dazzling air displays from the RAF and Royal Navy and fun activities along the Prom with the Army, trade stands, a funfair and lots more
All military aircraft displays are subject to service requirements. The organisers reserve the right to postpone or cancel displays in the event of unsuitable weather.
