Freely available through the Australian Business Analysis Association (ABAA) the ABACF is based on the International Institute of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and has been developed through a series of engagement workshops involving input from Australian government agencies, private corporations, training organisations, and peak industry bodies.
“I feel we’ve achieved a comprehensive, yet accessible model of what it means to be a business analyst, along with the necessary tools to assess those essential skills and techniques” – Astrid Ries, President, ABAA
Nationally, for first time employers will be able to use the ABACF to understand the competency levels of their existing business analysts and prospective business analyst employees. The ABACF defines three levels of accreditation which are attainable through an assessment process based on evidence of practical experience, training, reference checks and interviews. Further details to be announced soon in follow-up media releases.
