Chrysallis – Close to Disability hosts the meeting of the Information Communication Technology for Teachers (ICT) Project, which will be held in Athens 09 - 11 May 2009. The meeting will take place Hotel (9:30 am) on 9rth of May 2009 with the scope of the analysis and progress of the project.
The project aims at the development of ICT skills of teachers in Kindergarten and Primary Schools to embed ICT into their teaching process to empower pupils’ engagement to use ICT to become active, independent learners. Chrysallis is a non-profit and voluntary organisation based in Athens, Greece, that strives to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. We, as Chrysallis, work against the discrimination and exclusion that people with disabilities face in all aspects of society and aim at their socio-economical and educational integration offering them opportunities for life long learning, support and knowledge in new technologies.
The knowledge and experience of Chrysallis members on disability issues provides guidelines and suggestions for the best interest of people with disabilities focusing on innovative educational methods, research on accessibility issues, equality, independence as well as establishing good practices.
Our activities are to
- create and provide fully accessible e-Learning courses that will enhance the socio-economical and educational level of people with disabilities.
- contribute in the development of new accessible technologies.
- provide psychological support to people with disabilities and to their families.
- provide consultancy in respect to disability issues.
We believe in a translational environment where good practices would be established and hence enrich the knowledge and abilities of people with and without disabilities.
