Dawson & Fielding has launched its inaugural fund, targeted at $120m. The management team will put approximately $20m into the fund. The fund will focus on investments in the renewable energy, alternative fuels, recycling, filtration, environmental services and specialty care sectors in Asia.
Dawson & Fielding formerly operated as the private equity arm of investment firm, and is headed by Walter Mckinnel, formerly a partner at APC Private Capital and principal of Thames Partners.
Mckinnel said, 'We aim to be the leading investment company in our high growth industry target sector, supported by our expertise in the wider environmental services sector. 'It is clear from the constant focus on the environment that green industries are the future. In a world that now needs to increase its reliance on greener sources of energy, companies that offer renewable alternatives represent attractive investment opportunities. Dawson & Fielding aims to be at the forefront of this market, and is looking to work with potential partners and entrepreneurs keen to make their mark in this area,' Hays added.
Dawson & Fielding goal is to identify the point where market demand and technology intersect; and to select the business opportunity with the best vision, product offering and management team capable of achieving market leadership.
Dawson & Fielding offers private investors a portfolio of investment opportunities that ranges from seed-stage companies, who require venture capital funding, to well-established financially sound market leaders, where the stock of a company has demonstrated its ability to pay dividends in both good and bad times.
