The Partnership for Prevention will run an immunization, nutritional component, disaster preparedness, chiropractic care, and a daily exercise portion for the students at J.E. Richards Middle School of Gwinnett county on May 7th 5-8pm.
“We really have a chance to make a positive impact on the kids, but we really need help and support from their parents because we’re dealing with 6th-8th graders. With a few tweaks hear and there and some help from the parents we can make drastic changes in the lives of our kids of the future,” says Manento.
Below are just few of following strategies that will be talked about to help them be prepared.
1.) At least 30 min of exercise everyday: This is a moderate to an intense form of exercise. But being active daily will help reduce stress, burn fat, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels as well as restore balance back in their lives.
2.) Nutrition: A good reason why we’re experiencing childhood obesity is in correlation to eating a healthy diet. We will cover the effects of common foods and offer alternatives to living a healthy lifestyle. There will be whole grain alternatives for any starch as well as talking about the importance of fiber and how it has a better impact on the body compared to sugar and it’s effect on the blood sugar.
3.) Disaster preparation:
4.) How to relief pressure on the spine: Many kids may not know that sometimes having a back pack that is full of school books puts a tremendous amount of work on the spine. This can lead to injury and or muscular imbalances in the body.
