IIMSAM delegation to arrive Qatar

PR Log (Press Release) – May 07, 2009 – Doha : A high level delegation of the officials and Goodwill Ambassadors of the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), the Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council, led by His Excellency Remigio Martin Maradona is arriving here on Thursday.

The delegation is visiting Qatar on the invitation of IIMSAM’s Director (Middle East) and Goodwill Ambassador Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud. During the official trip, the officials will visit to a number of organizations including Qatar Foundation, ASPIRE, Shafallah Centre for The Children with Special Needs, Qatar Olympic Committee, Reach Out to Asia (ROTA) among others. The visiting officials will be in Doha until May 12, 2009.

IIMSAM’s Ambassador at large, Dr. Al- Sulaiman Al- Fahim, Ambassador S. Rahimi and other officials are accompanying IIMSAM’s Director- General His Excellency Remigio Maradona.

The purpose of the visit is to see the Qatar’s modules of functioning in the arena of social and humanitarian services. The officials will meet the senior functionaries and will discuss possible common participations and working partnerships with these organisations.
During the trip, IIMSAM’s officials will take part in other events planned by the IIMSAM’s Director (Middle East) who is based in Doha.

Speaking ahead of the delegation’s arrival, IIMSAM’s Director (Middle East), Dr. Naseer Shahir Homoud said other officials will be in Doha before the commencement of the official visit. The official visit will start from Sunday. Officials likely to come include IIMSAM’s representatives from India, Italy, Iraq, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States of America, Jordan and special facilitators across the continents.

He further said that during the official trip, IIMSAM’s Director- General, His Excellency Remigio Martin Maradona will honour a number of organizations including media for their outstanding contributions made for IIMSAM and spreading its mandate in the region.

The delegation will pass a resolution on the concluding day about IIMSAM’ humanitarian endeavours and future plans followed by  gala dinner cum felicitation ceremony at W Hotel on Tuesday.
