May 07, 2009 – The American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) has invited Colleen B. Zak, RN, from the ARPKD/CHF Alliance (www.arpkdchf.org)
, to participate on a PKD Panel as a Consumer Reviewer. AIBS will host a scientific review panel meeting representing the Department of Defense Peer Reviewed Research Program (PRMRP) and Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP). The purpose of the PKD panel is to discuss, critique, and score scientific applications. Only several Consumer Reviewers were selected nationwide to represent consumer views and community impact. The 2.5 day meeting will be held this summer.
Colleen Zak has worked as a PKD patient advocate for over 15 years, representing the rarer, more lethal form of the disease, Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease. For more information visit www.arpkdchf.org.
