Smooth Hound Offers "Spirited" Deals

Ghost hunting has become a popular past time and Smooth Hound has great deals to some of the most haunted locations in the UK.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 06, 2009 -
Smooth Hound is offering great prices to visit some of the most haunted places in Scotland. Many of the properties that Smooth Hound  offers are small family run properties located in historic buildings, 100 years old or more. Spring and summer often make ghosts easier to hunt, and this pass time is becoming more and more popular each year.
Scotland is a much loved location for those interested in hunting the paranormal or mythical creatures. And now that the weather is warmer, it is a great time to plan a visit to one of Scotland’s most haunted locations, Culloden Moor.
As many will know, Culloden was the location of the final battle between the Jacobites, loyal to Bonny Prince Charlie, and the King’s forces, who were loyal to the house of Hanover. Culloden is located near Inverness, where there are many small family lodging establishments, many who are more than happy to help you in your ghost hunt, even having a few ghosts of their own.
It is said that birds don’t sing at Culloden and that the apparition of a huge black bird can be seen on the moor. Legend has it that the commander of the Jacobites saw this very apparition the evening before the battle and new immediately that it was a bad sign. He and his men were defeated the next day.
In addition to ghost hunting at Culloden, the infamous Loch Ness is also nearby, and some say the Loch Ness Monster. Nessie is rumored to live in the inky black depths of the Loch which is the largest and deepest in all of Scotland.
While you are visiting Loch Ness and searching for Nessie, stop for a visit at Urquhart Castle. This historic site has had a castle located on it since the early 13th Century, though the age of the current castle is not exactly known. The castle was blown up in 1692 to prevent the rebel Jacobites from gaining control of it. It sat abandoned until 2003 and is now opened for visitors to explore. You can purchase a visitor’s guide which provides information about the castle and gives vistors an idea of what the castle may have looked like before being blown up. On occasion you may even find a piper playing in the mist, adding to the atmosphere. It is yet another great ghost hunting location near Inverness.
