May 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Calabar Magazine (http://www.calabarmag.com) is the official publication for The 38th International African Arts Festival (http://www.iaafestival.org) which will take place Thursday, July 2 - Sunday, July 5, 2009 at Commodore Bary Park in Brooklyn, New York.

The publication produces the Festival Supplement as a part its Summer issue of the bi-monthly magazine. This issue is given to all attendees at the festival. According to Atim Annette Oton, publisher and editor of Calabar Magazine, "this is the third year in a row that the magazine is publishing, and we are very supportive of the community event in Brooklyn." She continues, "our partnership with the International African Arts Festival is inline with our commitment to the Brooklyn African-American, African, Caribbean and African Diaspora community and one which we value".

Last year, the publication featured Barack Obama as the cover for the magazine and an article from several generations on why they support him. This year, the magazine will concentrate on critical issues across the African continent and the diaspora such as an account of the recently concluded South African election and the concept of branding Africa. The issue will also look at women's issues in Brooklyn and talk to women on how their lives are changing.

This issue also features advertising spaces in the Festival Supplement and focuses on small to medium-size businesses interested in reaching the audience of 75,000 attendees. For more information about advertising, please see http://www.calabarmag.com/festival.html to purchase ad space or call 718-638-4288.
