Unauthorized copying and ripping of digital content robs owners and distributors of the revenue their products generate. Independent filmmakers, large businesses, motivational speakers, and the like all face the same challenge: how do they distribute their content in today’s marketplace while guarding it from digital piracy?
Previously, security and copy-protection has only been available using technology such as CSS encryption, a method reserved for large volume jobs. Today, an increasing amount of content is published in small quantities using “On Demand” fulfillment methods where content is burned to DVD, making large volume jobs a thing of the past for many content owners. For these content owners, there has not been a method readily available for protecting their DVD content from illegal copying and ripping.
