FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
May 06, 2009 – RALEIGH, NC – NC LIVE, North Carolina’s consortium for the state’s nearly 200 public and academic libraries reported a more than 21 percent increase in the use of its electronic resources at North Carolina libraries over the last year.
According to reported statistics, NC LIVE users viewed 21.22 percent more items (electronic articles, books, or other media) over the previous fiscal year. NC LIVE Outreach & Promotions Librarian, Jill Robinson Morris stated, “In this tough economy everyone is increasingly using online resources. With our most recent addition of 204 career-related electronic books, North Carolina job seekers can really take advantage of NC LIVE resources.” At Cameron Village Public Library in Raleigh, Regional Supervisor Dale Cousins believes that NC LIVE resources are more important to North Carolinians now than ever. “What people may not know is that they have free, online access to information, such as the Wall Street Journal, PBS videos, and electronic books through NC LIVE. With everyone’s tightening budgets, this service is especially convenient because it is freely available in libraries across the state, and at home for remote users. NC LIVE gives North Carolinians, including entrepreneurs, parents, educators, and students, opportunities to save money and time with these online resources.” Students, faculty, and staff from any of North Carolina's community colleges, independent colleges and universities, and public universities, as well as patrons from all the state's public libraries can access all NC LIVE content at no cost. Designed for at-home use, NC LIVE resources are also available from any Internet connection. The NC LIVE collection includes electronic resources for children and adults on topics ranging from careers, business, and investing, to auto repair, art, health, history, and genealogy. Contact your local library or www.nclive.org for a complete list of NC LIVE resources and information on how to access NC LIVE. # # # About NC LIVE:
