New Technology by Thermal Balance Brakes Detects Metal Fatigue

When brakes are exposed to high speed driving or adverse conditions, they tend to wear away, causing “Metal Fatigue”. Metal Fatigue can lead to swerve, skid or fade. A new technology by Thermal Balance Brakes, can retard brake metal fatigue.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)May 05, 2009 – Thermal Balance Brakes is proud to announce the rollout of its new patented technology Thermal Cycling, that retards fatigue in brakes, preventing disasters such as skid, swerve or fade due to metal fatigue.

“We are very excited about our patented technology,” says Thermal Balance Brakes CEO, Frank Masyada. “As expected, a brake will wear until its performance is eventually compromised.  With repeated application, the brake will fail, or require maintenance sooner or later.  Due to the beneficial results created by Thermal Cycling, however, it will fail later than sooner.  Later is definitely better than sooner. ”

U.S. Congressman Bill Young’s Chief of Staff, Harry Glenn, met with Frank Masyada to learn about “Thermal Balance Brakes”, and how Thermal Cycling can save the State of Florida 50% in brakes repair and brake maintenance.  Frank is even willing to guarantee that in writing. After completing his visit, Harry Glenn said he would introduce Thermal Balance Brakes  to the Department of Transportation.

Masyada says during the Thermal Cycling process, brakes are alternately cooled and (sometimes) heated until they experience molecular reorganization.  This reorganization “tightens” or optimizes the particulate structure of the brake throughout, relieving stresses, and making it more dense and uniform (thereby minimizing flaws or imperfections).  A thermal cycled brake will have a longer life expectancy by as much as 200%.

What is the Thermal Cycling science behind brake heat distribution? A driver (school bus driver, for example) presses the brake quickly to avoid an accident. The metal in the brake is now under stress. Why? Because even the high performance brakes straight from the manufacturer contain flaws and imperfections at the molecular level that strain the brake and limit the brake's ability to stop without swerve or skid. The more flaws and imperfections in the brake, the more swerve or skid the driver may experience.

The versatility of Thermal Cycling is that it applies to aircraft, automotive, truck fleets, Department of Defense vehicles, Ambulances, Dump Trucks, etc.
