Gorham Sterling Silver Water Pitcher
PRLog (Press Release) -
May 05, 2009 -
This beautifully proportioned sterling silver water pitcher has a bit of the art deco to it- given its clean, eight-sided design. But its slightly softened edges and wide-open mouth make it a classic. The Fairfax pattern first originated with the Durgin Co., from Concord, New Hampshire, at the turn of the century. Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, R.I., then acquired Durgin, along with their designs. In tribute to Durgin, Gorham continued to hallmark the Fairfax designs with the Durgin hallmark- a script D in an oval cartouche- along with the Gorham name. These hallmarks are prominently stamped on the pitcher’s bottom. The water pitcher stands approx. 8 in. tall, measures 9 ¼ in. in length and 5 in. in width. It weighs 24 troy ounces and is in excellent condition. Price: $1,500.00
