Our Business Development Director, Lee Murray is committed to helping the Scottish IT industry and is asking for your vote. Please help by making sure your company votes for her in the Service category – we’d really appreciate it!

Below is her campaign statement:

I am passionate about the Scottish IT community and feel that ScotlandIS plays a vital role in supporting its members and raising the profile of the industry as a whole. I am very keen to join the board of ScotlandIS as it will allow me to increase my contribution to the industry, bringing my knowledge, experience and network to bear.

a) Specific skills/relevant experience I bring to the role:

-over 12 years experience in the IT field working both with Blue Chip organisations and SMEs across a variety of verticals and geographies;
-8 years working in a strategic business development capacity for IT services organisations including iGate Global Solutions, Morse Group and Head Resourcing;
-Well connected and respected throughout the Scottish IT community, within corporate and public sectors, and SMEs;
-Strong understanding of the Scottish IT labour market, essential for the prosperity of the industry
-Practical background in marketing, branding and PR

b) Previous contribution/experience working closely with and/or promoting the Scottish ICT sector, and ScotlandIS in particular:

-I organise and chair quarterly IT Directors’ Forums, an informal peer-to-peer cross sector event attracting 20-25 IT Directors across corporate Scotland;
-I have partnered with ScotlandIS for the last 2 years developing and promoting quarterly ‘Insights’ networking events across Central Belt and more recently Aberdeen;
-I am a regular promoter/ambassador of ScotlandIS and have been responsible for encouraging several software companies to become members

c) Aspects of ScotlandIS I would like to refresh/change if I am elected:

-Business development is particularly critical in this economic climate, software companies need to network with corporate buyers. I would use my relationships to encourage more senior IT managers/budget holders of large organisations to attend ScotlandIS events.
